3 ways to get there

Long tail boat

1. The classic way to travel along Khlong Bang Luang is by long tail boat. This way is the tradition way that people in the past 30 years traveled along this canal. (I am also one of the people that used to travel in this canal everyday to go to school, Rachini school next to Tha Rachini pier, by public long tail boat. But the service was cancel for a long time.) You can hire whole long tail boat at Tha Chang pier near the Grand Palace or Tha Rachini pier near Pak Khlong Flower Market. Price will be about 700 – 1,000 Baht. This way you will see the charming of scenery along the way to Khlong Bang Luang community. It might be a bit expensive but worth for your experience.

2. Or you can get there with cheap price is by metro. You can take MRT from Sam Yot station, just 1.5 kilometers from Central Old Town Cottage inn or Sanam Chai station near Pak Khlong Flower Market to Bangpai station and take the Exit 4. When you facing the road, Petchakasem20 alley will on your left hand side. From there you can catch a taxi or motorbike to Wat Kamphaeng temple where located in Petchakasem 20 alley, about 1.2 kilomaters far from there. (You also can tell a taxi driver or a motorbike driver to go to Wat Kamphaeng temple in Petchakasem20 alley by saying this word “Pai Wat Kam-phaeng soi Pet-ka-sem yee-sib”) or show them tis word in Thai “ไปวัดกำแพง ซอยเพชรเกษม 20” Please note that in Bangkok we have more than 1 Wat Kamphaeng temple. the one that is your destination is not far from there. So the driver shouldn’t use more than 5 minutes to get there.
